Congrats on the chicken success! At the feed and seed stores around here you can buy chicken antibiotics for their water, and vitamins and electrolytes too. But you probably won't need them again, not that she's back on her feed. From a fellow hen lover.

Man! I'm like the only kid on the block without her own chicken. Somehow I just never imagined a poultry fad and the awful peer pressure to have a Leghorn of my own. Welcome to your new roost, Penny. ~LA

Oooh! I love chickens! They're murderous cannibals when you put them together, but by themselves they're cute as can be. (And I don't gush like this about just any old critter). At the lab I used to have one named Puff-n-toot who would ride around on my arm as I went about the business of feeding them and giving them water. Good old Puff-n-toot. My boss ended up giving her away (after I said I wanted her myself), and I'm hoping she was too scrawny to eat. Give Penny a pat on the head for me!

You ROCK. How much do I love a person who rescues a chicken? How much? I'm completely charmed and my day is completely made. Yay for you and yay for Penny.
