Midsi came back! Saturday, two days after being snatched, she got away from her abductor. He had her in leg shackles in the car, and she broke free while he was out of the car momentarily. She ran down the street, with the kidnapper chasing after her, and she jumped into the cab of a truck and screamed to the driver, "I have been kidnapped! I have been kidnapped! My name is Midsi Sanchez!"

Talk about your feminist heroes.

The creep was hanging around his old job, trying to scrounge up a couple of dollars for gas and a big black plastic garbage bag. The truck driver copied down his license plate number and the police got him. Now they're investigating whether he might have been connected to Xiana's disappearance. Turns out he drove a cab here but quit just a day before she vanished. And it was the same place where the mother's boyfriend worked.

In other news, Diane got her 30-day sobriety chip. She has been in a rehab center since July 3rd, I think it was. She is eligible to visit home (24-hour pass) next weekend. I'm too cynical to hope for much but she seems to be doing well.
