Zimbabwe farmer Terence Ford lies dead under a bed cloth while his dog curls up next to the body March 18, 2002. Ford was tied up and shot and to death by alleged land settlers and war veterans while trying to escape from his homestead on Gorie farm in the Norton area west of Harare on Monday. It was the first attack on a white farmer since Mugabe beat off a challenge by Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai last week in a presidential election marred by violence and charges of vote rigging.
