Get off this computer. Put an end to everything. Retreat. Write in ink. Draw pictures. Challenge yourself---write something while disconnected. Send it somewhere. Make a list of all the little magazines who might take something of yours. Try to make $50 for a piece of writing instead of $5000. Remember to invoice for it. If you're no good at anything but complaining, make a name for yourself as a writer who specializes in complaints. Hate yourself a little longer, let it steep, then stop. Make something in color. There must be a place in the house that you can claim for your own that nobody else wants. A corner that you haven't spotted yet. Clear off the card table in the basement, take the corner, and don't give it up. Make spaghetti every single night until they notice.
